Critical Thinking for the Initial Incident Commander

Saturday March 7 & 8, 0800 - 1700 each day

Instructor: Stan Cooke Spokane Valley Fire Department, WA since 1981

This 16 hour course is designed for the initial incident commander whether the student is a company officer or response chief.  On a structure fire the initial incident commander is faced with the expectation of making critical decisions in a compressed time frame.  Critical thinking for the initial incident commander uses Bloom’s Taxonomy and Costas’ Levels of Intellectual Functioning methodology in addressing critical thinking as applied to the initial IC when dealing with structure fires.

All class attendees are welcome to an instructor meet & greet with Chief Cooke and Capt Buckingham Saturday evening at McMenamins Grand Lodge from 6pm - 9pm.  Complimentary snacks and non-alcoholic beverages provided.  Alcoholic drinks may be purchased from the bar (beer will be served for a price at the event).

Cost: $35
